I started recording music when I was fifteen in 1983. Friends knew me as the "pots & pans" guy who recorded using anything I could find around the house. With an old Kimball Swinger-1000 organ, homemade electric guitar and a single snare drum, I became obsessed with making music. In late 1983 I got my first synthesizer; a Sequential Circuits, Six-Trak. In 1985 I began making "space" music for the Roger B. Chaffee Planetarium in Grand Rapids, Michigan. By 1988 I was good enough to have my own setup that was provided by the planetarium. Aside from an effects unit in 1989 and a new keyboard in 1990, I acquired very little music equipment in those years.

In 1994 I moved to Arizona. Not having much room, I did not bring any of my music equipment with me. Being that I was living my new life in the Southwest, recording music was one of the last things on my mind.

In 2000, thanks to eBay, I was suddenly finding myself in a position to get some of the keyboards I had always wanted cheap. That, and thanks to a few friends who I know that are also into recording I began gearing up.

Now that I Have enough modern digital synthesizers, I have found I have caught the "vintage" bug. Searching for and finding rare and historical synthesizers has become a passion of mine. Not only do I hope to own many of these older instruments, but I also enjoy finding places to use their unique and often forgotten sounds in my music.
